Owen (ONN) technologies has unveiled the all the Owen E1 e-book reader, thus adding a new contender in the increasingly stiff electronic book readers’ race. Although, the market is currently being dominated by Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes & Noble’s Nook, there is still a lot of room for improvement and new features that can be brought in by other companies, such as in the case of Owen E1.

One of the most attractive features of the Owen E1 is the extremely streamlined design along with the 6-inch E-Ink display that offers gives the device 20 lines per page amounting to 30 characters per line. This new more compact design could come as a welcome relief from the today’s e-book readers, with the E1 measuring at 170 × 120 × 11.5mm.

Among other features, the Owen E1 is known to provide support for MP3, WMA and OGG files along with image files as well. However, as of now, there is no confirmation, whether this e-book reader is capable of color display or not, not there is any confirmation on the price of the device. The Owen E1 has been designed keeping in mind the need of energy conservation, as the device is capable of going into stand by mode for 25 days, with just one time charge and when in use, a single charge gives the users the ease of flipping through 10,000 electronic pages.
