In a rare show of courage and compassion, Kia Scherr, who lost both her husband and daughter at Mumbai’s attack talked about sending out forgiveness and compassion to the attackers. She found strength in Jesus Christ’s words “they know not what they do”.

How true! Don’t think these young terrorists know the meaning of this game of death. These young recruits are brainwashed in the name of religion and lured by incentives and challenge. Wish they knew that it is not very difficult to kill or die but it needs courage to live without harming others. It is a bigger challenge to achieve one’s objective without spilling blood of innocent men and women. Their act will never be seen as an act of courage. Only cowards can indulge such an act of violence.

It is ironical that Kia Scherr’s family was in India as a part of spiritual tour. They didn’t deserve such a violent death. India is known to the world as a land of peace and spirituality. This has been a brutal attack on the spirit of the land. Hope India will show rare courage and choose non-violence and peace process as a path ahead instead of another confrontation and counter-attack.
