One of the most prestigious and influential market guides, the Consumers Digest Magazine has now bestowed thirty five vehicles and seven companion models with the crown of ‘Best Buy’, where in all the vehicles judged have are set to be launched in the year 2011. This all new spin on the automobile industry will be available in the December 2010 edition of Consumers Digest Magazine, and the list itself is composed of twelve categories including Subcompacts, Compacts, Family Cars, Luxury Cars, Sporty Cars, Full-size Pickups, Small Pickups, Minivans, Compact SUVs, Midsize SUVs, Full-size/Luxury SUVs and Hybrids.
Consumer Digest employed some of the most stringent factors while evaluating the 2011 models for the ‘Best Buy’ stamp of approval. These factors included behind-the-wheel assessment, safety ratings, ownership costs, warranty, price, comfort, ergonomics, styling and amenities. As far as the ratings are concerned, CD gave the 2011 Automotive Best Buy honor in the ‘Luxury Car’ segment to Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CTS sedan, Hyundai Genesis sedan, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, while the magazine awarded the ‘Best Buy’ title to four hybrids scheduled to be launched next year. These hybrid cars included Ford Escape Hybrid, Ford Fusion Hybrid, Mercury Mariner Hybrid, Mercury Milan Hybrid.
According to Randy Weber (Publisher, Consumers Digest),
“Value, as we see it, is based on purchase price and ownership costs relative to quality, performance and subjective factors like comfort and design. Few purchases are more important, or require more research, than buying a new vehicle. Our analyses underscore our commitment to ensure that consumers are as satisfied with their auto purchase years after making it as they were on the day they drove off the lot.”
