As the global automobile industry continues its evolutionary curve, at the center of it all is a sheer will on the part of automobile manufacturers to preserve the environment, while keeping their car designs as enticing as possible. Now, one of the premier luxury car brands, Jaguar, has unveiled all new vehicle to be showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show (IAA 2011) in the form of Jaguar C-X16 Hybrid Concept. This remarkable new concept will be featuring an all new feature called, ‘Push-to-Pass’, which has been derived specifically from Formula 1 Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS). This unique system will enable the drivers to make use of an additional 94 horsepower that will be generated by the electric motor, providing a significant speed boost for up to ten seconds. The Jaguar C-X16 Hybrid Concept will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 375 horsepower, while Jaguar will also be making use of an experimental high-performance hybrid system.
With a state of the art hybrid system, the Jaguar C-X16 will be able to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.4 seconds, while this hybrid car will come with a top speed of 186 mph. The entire hybrid machinery of the C-X16 is complemented by an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Jaguar has also outfitted this remarkable vehicle with an Intelligent Start/Stop system taken from the Jaguar XF sports sedan that shuts off the car’s engine in just 300 milliseconds. Jaguar has given this fabulous car an all-aluminum chassis that keeps the car’s weight quite low and the seats are also reinforced with carbon fiber central spine.
