The caveat hangs over our heads: unless we make drastic changes, conditions on this planet will get even worse in terms of population explosion, depletion of natural resources that are inescapably finite, and the ever-growing problem on global warming that has been altering the climate and changing physical and social conditions on earth.
Now, latest scientific researches point to an even more desperate possibility: the present civilization that we know about will end by 2100. That revelation should send everyone to panic as the timetable means next century. The planet must be in real danger, and not just some palpable risk. Experts call it the ‘perfect storm’ or the dire convergence of the three colossal problems of population growth, bankrupt resources, and climate change.
Man, however, is a creature of survival. While the drastic possibility looms up ahead, it is incumbent upon the survivalist nature of man to avert any calamitous disaster such as the ‘perfect storm.’ Already, there are numerous actions regarding sourcing and implementation of renewable energy resources. There is also the prevalent awareness regarding the harmful effects of fossil fuels. Decongesting urban centers is not an impossible feat. There have been innumerable movements to clean and green. Man will make sure that his present civilization will not collapse.
