The trend these days when it comes to celebrating 50, 75 or 100 years of a company is not just to have a grand party and drink all night, but actually to release a cool new collector edition version of a previous product or a new range that will bring in some extra cash. Monopoly owners Hasbro though are not just looking to cash in on the 75th anniversary of the famed game, but are trying to offer a new twist to the much loved square. They will be celebrating 75 years of Monopoly with a new circular board which will soon hit the stores.

While this might be a limited period thing and not a permanent change to the board, Hasbro claim that this was the initial idea for Monopoly; the game board was conceptualized as a circle and then turned to square. While few would have a problem with the change of shape, the use of a chip and pin credit card and a central console that plays banker doing away with that tons of cash seems to be a real down point.

Yup, we are tech-savvy, but we still love truckloads of cash and a chance to steal now and then when no one is looking. So throw in some good old-fashioned bills along with the new board and we might be indeed game for another round!
