Last month at IDF Beijing, there was a brief mention about several new Intel MIDs. An XP-based clamshell, which is also known as the BYD Mars attracted a lot of attention because the other side of it housed a phone. While there are no further details to provide about the BYD Mars, we however, came across the so-called NFS convertible, which is a phone too.

The LonMID by NFS-HLJ comes in black and prototype units that measure 6.2″ x 3.5″ x 1.1″. Besides the handset that acts as the back of the M100′s display, the mini convertible’s specs are consistent with Intel’s original Linux-based MID definition. The LonMID comes with interesting features. The handset portion of it has a hardware Keypad, 2.4″ QVGA display, which is similar to the MIU HDPC, and SIM card slot.

The LonMID 100 is also equipped with interfaces, and hardware controls like the camera shutter button, two headphone jacks, USB port, two miniUSB ports, microSD card slot, volume rocker, call buttons, power port, power switch and stylus slut. It also has front and rear cameras. It is not certain if the LonMID 100 will ever be produced abundantly.
