TypePad, which is blogging website was started in the year 2003 and since then, has acquired quite a lot of fame and a large user base. However, the blogging services provided by TypePad had one major flaw, it was a paid subscription, a feature that made no sense especially with heightening competition from free blogging services such as WordPress and Google’s Blogger.
However, understanding the necessity of free for all blogging, TypePad has now launched an all new service called TypePad Micro. The new service is a micro blogging service that enables the users to post their thoughts and any other stuff that they find on the web. Even though the site can also be used as a conventional blogging network, yet it seems that the service is tailored for users who prefer to share music, links, images etc.
Although TypePad is quite on the levels of Twitter, yet the micro blogging stands apart in several ways, as along with micro blogging, the website can also be used normal blogging and sharing of multimedia files. One of the primary reasons for the launch of the free blogging service from TypePad is that, the company is hoping that with the free blogging service, more users will be attracted to the website and might end up deciding to pay for the professional accounts as well.
The free version of the the TypePad blogging network provides its users with various options such as the users can to create and establish site banners and the color themes of their blogs. Along with these personalization features, the TypePad Micro also provides the users with statistics of their blogs as well.
