A new Google Docs to compete with Office 2010

With the tightening competition Microsoft – Office 2010 has arrived at the shops – Google recently released a new version of Google Docs. Anyone who has used the web-based suite may soon transfer documents created in old version to the new Google Docs, and those who have not yet tested the suite of web-based Google could meet face to face services that make life easier time to edit documents collaboratively.

Besides the new interface design, editing text documents and spreadsheets will be even better. For text editing, import documents has been improved and now allows greater control over the layout of the pages, as well as the inclusion of a character map, a dictionary, word searches and the ability to resize images, explains the site Technorati.

For worksheets, included a bar formula editing, the ability to auto-cells and copying from one worksheet to another, besides allowing the ordination of a group of cells.

And to facilitate communication between employees of the documents, Mashable points out that Google Docs updates also include a group chat, which should assist in collaborative document editing in real time.

The updates will already be available soon for all users, including the Enterprise package of Google Apps. The previous version is still available for some days, but should become the official Google Docs from mid-June.
