CBK Power is an independent power producer in the Philippines, with significant capacity (792 MW available) for power generation. The company defines its corporate social responsibility as dedication to giving quality performance, employee welfare, care for the environment, and support to social development particularly of its host communities.

CBK installed an oil skimmer and oil treatment plant to allow the recovery and reuse of used oil. It improved the storage facility and handling of the used oil as well. It also established a solid waste management system including waste segregation and composting. For the first time, CBK established a Flood Forecasting and Warning System for the Botocan and Caliraya Dams, which are over 77 and 67 years old, respectively.

Most of CBK Power’s host communities are classified as fifth-class municipalities where the majority of the population does not have sufficient means of livelihood. CBK Power has introduced alternative livelihood projects. It sponsors participants to different livelihood training courses.

CBK hopes to contribute to the prosperity of the communities surrounding it. CBK Power believes that besides generating profits for its shareholders, it is also important to generate social benefits to its host communities and to enhance and conserve the environment for future generations. Thus, CBK believes that its financial, social and environmental success all define the quality and quantity of its corporate performance. CBK Power wants to excel in all three bottom lines.
