Connie Culp’s good looks were taken away when she was shot on the face by her husband in 2004. After a series of surgeries in last December, Connie, 46, was not able to face the world. Finally she mustered the courage to reveal the world the wonders her doctors have done to her disfigured face.

Her husband shot her on her face and then shot himself as well. However, he survived and was jailed for seven years. The shot had completely shattered her facial structures. Together with that it shattered her confidence. With the pipe that was fitted on her wind pipe, Connie suffered a low self esteem and she was reported to have barely left home after the injury.

However a team of doctors managed to pull of the 22 hour long surgery. Connie expressed her thanks to the doctors and her donor at the news conference in the US. There has certainly been a huge difference in her appearance despite her slurred speech and excess skin on her face. However, that’s nothing in comparison to be ability to eat, smile and talk for the first time in five years.
