Fiat has unveiled a concept of its latest electric car, the Phylla that is environmental friendly. As it doesn’t need to run on fuel, it will not contribute its dirty share to air pollution.
Unlike the other electric cars that we may so far have seen, Phylla weighs about 750kg of which 20% of its weight is the battery pack itself. The 2+2 Phylla can run from two different units, the lithium-ion battery pack, which enables it to run up to 145km and the lithium polymer unit can run up to 220km. Phylla performs well and it takes roughly six seconds to go between 0 and 30mph but the top speed can measure up to 80mph. A substantial part of its bodywork is covered in solar panels that can generate up to 340W. It can be recharged between just three and four hours. The electric motor has an average power output of 27KW and has a maximum output of 54KW. It also provides drives to all the four wheels.
If words are to be believed, Phylla might be able to carry a 1KW fuel cell on board. However it’s not yet certain if Phylla would be available widely. Nevertheless, it will definitely be a boon to the intra-city transport woes, which literally suck up all the fuel.
