A Touchy Bathroom: Re-Evaluated to Conserve Water

With water scarcity taking its toll from the world’s population, we need to discover means of conserving it. The designers Joel Williams, Claire Finch, Alexander Archer-Todde, Ethan Mcquillan, Liam Smith and Joel Neild have attempted to do this as a part of their student project through their very unique bathroom . Taking its name from Roca, a company branded for its fabulous bathroom products, this bathroom conserves water in the following ways…

Revitalize: A shower unit that makes use of a tactile sensors on its floor panel, which guide water only to the place where the user stands, thereby preventing water wastage.

Rebathe: A small and cozy bath unit where the touch sensitive wall tiles manipulate the water and divert the used dirty water to flush the toilet.

Refresh: A statuette convex mirrored sink comprising hot and cold sensitive foot tiles, which prevent the incessant flow of water.

The bathroom has soft and faint mood lighting that creates a soothing milieu for the user to drive his filth and fatigue away without wasting water thus blending the aesthetic taste of its designers with their commendable concern for environment.
