Plymouth College of Art has a new and distinguished vending machine now. This old vending machine has been installed at the famous Viewpoint Gallery which springs to life every now and then without any warning.
It also throws up free packets of crisps for visitors and they wouldn’t even be expecting it! It will no longer work as you want it to. That is, one cannot just insert coins and expect the vending machine to vend out chips. Instead, it whimsically works on its own agenda and when it feels like, throws a packet of chips or two.
It has its own nervous system which is controlled by a computer of course. The catch is, it throws a packet of chips only when a news reader or headline on BBC RSS Feed by utters the word “recession”. Looks like an interesting way to beat recession blues but I question, What if the guy who passes the vending machine is loaded?
