This picture above might be a glimpse of the future. The place? Sao Paulo city. The time? 3 PM.
Gradually the rise of temperatures in our planet is being caused by the accumulation of certain gases in the atmosphere, mainly carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide (CO2). Although it is not exactly what is causing the gradual increase in temperature on the planet it seems that this environmental problem can be a mix of factors: it may be a natural phenomenon, or can be caused due to the action of man.
But the fact is that global warming is a reality and that climate change is occurring much more intense.
The Brazilian summer may be one of the greatest examples of the consequences of global warming. The average temperature is 2 ° Celsius above normal in many regions of Brazil, but in others there was an increase of up to 4 ° C Celsius. In Rio de Janeiro in January the temperatures reached 50 ° C.
Meanwhile in southern Brazil, especially in the state of Sao Paulo, one fifth of those cities are on alert due to heavy rains almost daily that hit the state of Sao Paulo. In Sao Paulo metro area it rains heavily for 43 days without stopping. Needless to say that the people are suffering daily due to storms and the rains will continue until March, when the summer ends.
Let this serve as a warning to the Northern Hemisphere, the hemisphere that contains the countries that are the biggest polluting ones on the planet. The intensification of storms will cause damage and human suffering: there will be food prices high, frightening floods, destruction or deterioration of the infrastructure and disease outbreaks.
Finally, for those who did not take Copenhagen seriously, perhaps in the next 6 to 9 months it will rise an opportunity to happen a change of mentality in the North countries.
