Most of us fear using air conditioners on a regular basis due to the huge amount of load it causes on our electricity bills. We often think twice before switching on one and settle down for the ceiling fans most of the times. AC Sun, a Danish air conditioner company has come forwards with an exceptional concept- an AC that runs on solar power.

Though there are many air conditioners in the market, this one stands apart from all the others. It uses solar thermal technology instead of solar panels or photovoltaic cells. The AC uses sun’s heat to boil water and the steam produced as a result propels the turbines which bring down the room temperature. These air conditioners would be lucrative and energy conserving.

This new age concept is still in its initial stages and will take a couple of years to hit the market. This is a very unique field in which the sun’s heat is being converted to cool a room. Let’s hope this concept clicks with the folks.
