The most mundane of objects can be made to look glamorous, and into a piece of art, if a designer wishes to make it so. Ivo Otasevic is a Serbian architect who is gifted with the talent to transform a boring furniture piece into an objet d’art that you would be prompted to display for everyone.
Ivo’s aCHAIR looks like a child’s difficult attempt at learning the alphabets but even though Ivo sees this design as his faltering steps into the field of design, the design of the chair is far from appearing like an amateur attempt. The sleek chair seems both usable in a chic setting and would also not look out of place under the spotlight at a museum. Made from a combination of several materials (including wood and metal), the chair is also painted in a sombre black and a psychedelic green which highlights the dual nature of the chair.
Ivo heads the Otako office and the design for aCHAIR has won the designer much admiration and attention at the Design Fair in Milan. With all that recognition, perhaps Ivo’s next project ssould be title bME!
