Even after laying off 700 employees of its total work force Adobe Systems doesn’t seem to slow down, as is evident from the latest release of its two most highly anticipated products. Adobe has announced the release of AIR 2.0 and Adobe Flash Player 10.1. both in Beta states. This is the very first time that the AIR and Adobe Flash Player have been launched together and both the software are have been designed for all three primary platforms, i.e. Windows, Mac and Linux.

The all new Flash Player 10.1 has been designed specifically to ensure maximum system performance and includes multi-touch APIs (Application Programming Interface) along newly developed networking APIs. However, the most astonishing feature of the all new flash players, is its memory reduction factor, that greatly reduces the memory of a system required to run the player.

The new improved AIR 2.0 is expected to the dream come true for developers and engineers, as the new software, will enable users to run programs within the OS using the designated default applications and can create customized instructions for programs, with the aid of of NativeProcess API. The developers will also greatly benefit with the inculcation of creating socket servers inside an AIR application. Furthermore, the creation of socket servers also gives the users the ability of monitoring mounted drives.
