Ahmadinejad: ‘No country would dare attack Iran’

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in his speech during the celebration of the Armed Forces in Tehran that no nation would dare attack his country. With the strength of Iran’s military, the enemy will not dare anymore to even threaten Iran, he assured the people. This statement is in response to the revived speculation that the new government of Israel led by right-wing prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attack Iran to halt the Islamic republic’s alleged attempts to make a nuclear bomb.

Referring to Iran’s much-criticized and internationally controversial nuclear program, Ahmadinejad said that Iran has become a regional power and will not give in to intimidation if it affects the Iranian people’s rights and interests. Iran has always stated that its military resources are only for deterrence and defense.

Nevertheless, some Western nations are wary of Israel’s enemy especially since it is known that its Shahab-3 missiles have a range of 2,000 kilometers and can reach Israeli territory.

In addition, President Ahmadinejad addressed the crisis in Afghanistan and Iraq and said that his government is willing to cooperate in the overall management in helping to promote safety in other parts of the planet.
