Alex Astilean is a remarkable Olympic medalist. Not just winning a medal but he has also gone ahead to create one of the best human-powered mobile treadmills ever. Speedfit is a treadmill that uses human energy to transport oneself and also help them exercise. It is almost like a mass transit vehicle which would allow people to travel in an urban area by also getting some exercise.
However it is not a very attractive design and he sure could use some bling to catch the users’ attention. The design however has to be one of the best ideas as it combines exercising with mass transportation.
If only people decide to give up unhealthy habits, they can go ahead and use this amazing vehicle to not only reach their destination but also get some good exercise. He in fact wants to make it flashier so that it appears all cool and nice. In fact, the idea is to make people race other so that they work out more!

so stupid. Outdoor jogging on a stationary jogging device that has been made to move. How about just jogging? Ir make this useful and have a huge basket so you can carry stuff.

“Speedfit is a treadmill that uses human energy to transport oneself and also help them exercise”
If that’s the purpose, why not just ride a bike? At least you won’t look like a complete retard. If you want “mass transportation” get a a tandem – I’m going to hazard a guess and suggest most people looking to buy one of these aren’t going to have any friends to transport anyway.

Haha this is almost like having TVs in a gym with headphone jacks on the treadmills. Why cant we do what we are actually doing (ie watch TV OR Workout). If you want to run to the grocery store don’t hop on your treadmill… go for a run…The world is the biggest treadmill around.
That said it did look like he was pushing pretty hard in some parts of the video so you may get a better workout using this if pushing your own body weight is not enough for you.
