At the FDP International convention currently being held in Japan, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics have unveiled their latest line of display monitors, that have been designed to be transparent. The whole new range OLED see through displays vary from 2.67-inch to 20.7-inch.
However, one of the most attractive gadgets in the expo so far, has been the transparent AMOLED display from LG that has been attached to a computer running Windows 7 and displays ac calculator application and a fireworks scenery, while the contents behind the screen are clearly visible due to the transparency effect that has been set to a comfortable level of 30%.
The commercial availability and the proposed price of these see through display monitors hasn’t been disclosed or even decided yet. The display monitors are comprised of organic EL materials, that not only heighten their visual appeal, but also make them a first hand contender in the world of eco-friendly gadgets.
Both transparent displays sport a maximum pixel capacity of 176 x 220 (QCIF) and 141ppi, and the maximum luminance for these ingenuous display screens has been set at 300cd/m2 for top top emission and 100cd/m2 for the bottom emission.
