An Inside Look At Google Operating System For Notebooks And Desktops

Since the inception Google Search Engine, the online domain has literally been monopolized by Google Inc. due to its excellent and unmatched services. From the day Google started introducing new services such as Gmail, Gtalk, Google Maps, Google Earth etc, millions of users have shed their long time services of Microsoft, Yahoo! Etc and have been extremely satisfied and happy with what Google has given to them, and that too, mostly free of charge.

Recently, Google announced its very own browser, Google Chrome. Although it wasn’t able to match the Mozilla Firefox, still it was able to edge out Internet Explorer 8 and have seen million of downloads and users on a daily basis. Now, via the official Google Blog, an all new operating system from Google has been announced. Although, there have been speculations for a long time about a possible Google OS, it still was quite unclear whether Google was infact in a mood to make one. With this new announcement, all the doubts have been put to rest and it is a fact now that Google would soon be introducing an operating system for notebooks and desktops, known as ‘Google Chrome OS’.

The three factors that Google has focused upon during the development of Google Chrome OS are speed, simplicity and security. Google has clarified, that in time, they will focus more on the security criteria, that would further simplify user experience, as they wouldn’t have to face the threats of viruses and malware. Google will also keep releasing security updates to keep the OS up to date.

According to the Google Blog, Google Chrome OS will be compatible with both x86 and ARM chips and it is also negotiating with various OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to release the all new OS for sale by the year 2010.
