Ancient Cucci Cabinet Fetches $7.3 Million at Christie’s

Cucci Cabinet is an ancient piece f furniture that fetched $7.3 million at the Christie’s famous auction house in London. It was created during the 1665 to 1675 period. Created by Italian artist and master craftsman Domenico Cucci, only 3 are found today.

While one was auctioned off, the other two can be found in the castle of Duke of Northumberland in England. Apparently, it was even owned by Queen Hedvig Eleonora of Sweden . If you looked at it, you would realize its regal beauty and the royal style in which it has been crafted. Thanks to its Florentine ‘pietra dura’ panels, it is a hit among all the art lovers.

During the time of French King Louis XIV, Domenico Cucci was known as the best cabinet maker and even worked for the French king. With such amazing history behind the cabinet, it is no wonder that it fetched such horrendous amounts of money. There is nothing better than a cabinet which has historical significance when it comes to creating heirlooms. Who knows, there are a few royal ghosts lurking within the cabinet!
