It’s Android phones’ turn after the iPhones’ to get access to Facebook on their phones. This will surely cheer up the Android users who for so long have been waiting to get something cool such as this. The features are almost the same like the ones in iPhone edition, except that you cannot send private messages or manage events.
However, you can still send out your status updates, check news feed, upload photos and browse profiles as well. The browny point the Android users get is the special feature to view 125 phone numbers for their friends right on the home screen. I wonder why they had to limit to only 125. Moreover, the app has come after a long wait when Apple’s iPhone users have already got access to three versions.
Interestingly, the rumor mills also say that a few unofficially produced applications were offered access to Facebook like eBuddy. Leaving aside the rumor mills, there seems to have been some confusion regarding the app being not developed by Facebook. The team’s product manager confirmed that it’s theirs.
To provide further clarifications on the confusion, Jaime Schopflin, the spokesperson adds that an engineer from Google built the core of the app and developers from both the companies collaborated on the final version. I guess the explanations are substantial enough to ward off the confusion!
