
In yet another case of desperation and anger taking over the sane minds, a gunman was arrested by the local law enforcement in the Orlando, Florida, after the crazed individual went to his ex-office and showered the people with indiscriminate firing. The shooting led to the death of one person and injured five others. The shooting incident took place on the eight floor of the Gateway Center building that used to be the perpetrator’s work place.
The accused, Jason Rodriguez fled the scene of the crime and took shelter at his mother’s residence. The authorities apprehended him from his sanctum without incident. When the police officers went to Jason’s mother’s house, they saw him from the window and took him into custody. The accused used to work for Reynolds Smith & Hills, which is an architectural and engineering firm and was laid off almost two years ago due to poor performance. Jason Rodriguez worked as an engineer with the firm.
Around 11a.m the authorities were called in for a shooting in process and by the time the police had arrived, Jason had already fled the scene of the crime. Police officers immediately cordoned off the area, including the interstate 4, but was later reopened so as to to maintain a smooth flow of the afternoon traffic. In a statement, the president of Reynolds Smith & Hills said,
“I am saddened to inform you that this morning there was a shooting incident at the RS&H Orlando office. At this time we have no details. Police are investigating and as soon as we are informed, an update will be provided. Please join me in praying for the safety and well being of all of our Orlando associates.”
The schools in the vicinity of the incident were immediately enforced into a lock down and the an advisory was issued to the parents, that asked them to check their children’s school websites for the information regarding the end of lock down and when the children will be leaving for their respective homes.
