Far from its tarnished reputation, slumping revenues and threat of complete closure, one of the oldest American internet entities, AOL of America Online is finally set to begin its solo journey towards redemption with the aim improving its web sites and achieving the ever elusive advertisement revenues. The 1990′s era witnessed AOL as one of the most prolific dial up internet connection providers and from the year 2010, AOL will now be surfacing as rejuvenated committed firm.

So far the only decent presence of of AOL on the internet, is the reputed technology blog, Engadget that has been digging into some of the most interesting finds in modern technology. However, AOL will have to do a lot more to ensure that, it survives the initial few months of its solitary operations and restore the rapidly evaporating faith from the users.

Now that, AOL has severed its ties with Time Warner, the shareholders of Time Warner Inc. are slated to be given one share of AOL for every eleven Time Warner shares they hold. Furthermore, the new AOL will now begin its journey on the New York Stock Exchange so an independent company. Time Warner and AOL began their collaboration in the year 2001, at a time when AOL was at its peak and Time Warner believed that its entertainment services could greatly benefit from AOL increasing grip on the internet. However, nearly a decade had passed and AOL had become more of a liability than an asset for Time Warner, thus pressing in the spin off of AOL.
