Apple Acquires Quattro Wireless For $300 Million

Apple Inc. has begun the new year with an all new acquisition, that of the mobile advertising platform, Quattro Wireless for about $300 million. This latest acquisition from Apple comes after it lost its chance of buying AdMob, another mobile advertising company that was swept off by the search industry giant, Google Inc. for a whopping $750 million.

This bold move on the part of Apple, has not only given it an all new mobile advertising network, but has also brought Apple into the league of Microsoft, Google and Yahoo as a stark competitor, that would put them quite on the edge, as Apple already holds a significant part of the market after the incredible success of Apple iPhone series.

Quattro Wireless one of the leading companies in the field of mobile advertising and its primary role is to place advertisements on mobile phones and the company has a quite an impressive client list including Ford, Procter & Gamble and Visa. Theses advertisements are primarily targeted towards iPhone, Google Android powered devices and other popular smart phones. The world of internet on mobile phones has spawned from a luxury to a religion and companies have been scrambling to grab share of this highly lucrative pie.
