apple inc Apple Inc. Announces Q3 Fiscal Results

Apple Inc. has announced its third quarter financial results during a conference call to its investors and so far, they have exceeded the expectations and predictions of analysts and experts. Many believe that, Apple’s profits for the third quarter can be credited to the launch of the all new iPhone 3GS and the company’s decision to sell its Macintosh notebooks at lesser prices than before. Apple posted a profit of $1.23 billion and its overall sales jumped to 12% bringing the overall figures to $8.34 billion for the third quarter that ended on 27th June, 2009.

According to Ryan Jacob (Jacob Internet Fund),

“Apple added the faster iPhone 3GS, cut the price of its older iPhone 3G to $99 and updated its MacBook notebooks to entice shoppers. Profitability was helped by rising demand for the iPhone, which commands wider profit margins than other products. It’s their highest-margin product and the product with the fastest growth rate. It’s impressive their Mac sales have been growing in a terrible economic environment.”

Since Apple lowered the price of iPhone 3G to $99 and made its Apple App Store a global phenomenon, more and more users are willing to shed that extra dollars and grab their own iPhones and for the computer savvy consumers, the MacBooks are also much inexpensive than before. The introduction of new technology and the price cut in some of its most notable products, have created a lot of trouble for the rivals, as they are unable to match Apple’s business trends, thereby not being able to attract consumers.

It seems that, Apple CEO Steve Job’s health isn’t a factor that influences the investors. All the investors are looking for, is the sales and a rise on profits and market share. According to Shaw Wu (Analyst, Kaufman Bros.),

“The stock would not be where it is if his health was a primary concern. At the forefront is the products — how many Macs are they selling, how many iPhones? Investors are really more focused on company fundamentals.”
