As per analysts at Wall Street, the highly anticipated tablet computer from Apple Inc. could be launched to the commercial markets by as early as March 2010. After the launch of the tablet device, Apple is targeting a sales figure of one million tablets a month and would try its level best to ensure that, the new device achieves the same level of success as enjoyed by iPhone.

According to Yair Reiner (Analyst, Oppenheimer),

“The manufacturing cogs for the tablet are creaking into action,Apple will begin ramping production in earnest in February, implying that the tablet could launch in late March or April.”

If Apple is looking for a high volume of sales for the tablet, then the company would require to keep a substantial number of tablets amounting to that of six weeks worth because the moment the tablet is launched, there would be plethora of consumers just waiting to get their hands on the device. As per Mr. Reiner, Apple could be planning to bring out the tablet device with the price tag of $1,000 a piece and have also gotten into partnerships with major U.S publications, convincing them to sell their products for the tablet format via a apps store that will be based on the Apple Apps Store concept.

There is still standing speculation as per the price of the tablet device where many analysts believe that, the the tablet won’t cost more than $800 as the device has been deemed as a luxury item and consumers won’t mind shelling out $800 for a tablet device that will provide them almost every level of communication.
