After its chairman be considered the most influential person in the IT industry, now is the time Apple appear as an influential brand in the world of social media. A study sponsored by Sysomos indicates Apple as second most influential brand, behind Google, but ahead of competitors like Microsoft (3rd), HP (5th), Intel (6th) and even Disney (8th).
Sysomos said to be motivated by the fact that its study is more comprehensive than the 100 Best Global Brands produced by Interbrand and published recently by Business Week. According to Sysomos the Interbrand study does not take into account the activity in social media and something that Sysomos called as “on-line” feeling.
According to the company, the two rankings do not have a direct relationship and the only company that occupied the same place on both lists was the Microsoft (third place).
In fact, the list of Interbrand, Apple is on the 20th position and Google, the leader in the ranking of Sysomos, is 7.
The top 10 ranking of Sysomos, named “World’s Leading Brands by Social Media Presence” are occupied by Google, Apple, Microsoft, BMW, HP, Intel, Honda, Disney, Samsung and Toyota, in that order. The full report Sysomos is on page www.sysomos.com/reports/topbrands.
