The launch of the Apple iPad has heralded an all new era of mobile computing, a time when almost all our professional and personal work is done on the web. Whether it is shopping, schooling, dating, or professional meetings and other activities are fast being transformed into the virtual world and the iPad is here to make such task even more simplified. This all new tablet device has now been given an all new application, that would certainly make it more enticing and efficient for the professionals.
The all new application called, iWork Pages which is the iPad equivalent to the the Apple iWork word processing program is now available for all iPad users. iWork Pages is in many ways similar to the Microsoft Word program and provides the users with a valuable word processor. The iWork Page has been further simplified for the iPad and is capable of handling even complex Word.doc files and import them to the iPad, while retaining all the aspects of the document. Another feature that could be a little hard to understand is the ‘Menu’ option that comes only when the iPad is in the portrait mode.
The virtual keyboard that is used to enter the text in iWork Pages works quite casually and for those users who are accustomed to the process of touch typing, it would seem a bit cumbersome. However, application does provide almost all features and options while creating a word document, including paragraph justification, bold, italics, numbered lists, bullet lists, and more. With such an handy application available on the iPad, it would be a very smart move for Microsoft, if the company in the near future, comes out with an official Microsoft Office application for the Apple iPad.
