Apple iPhone To Finally Hit South Korean Markets

One of the most sought after gadget in the world is finally all set to make its debut in one of Asia’s biggest economies, South Korea. The announcement was made one of the biggest wireless carriers in South Korea, KT Corporation. The telecommunication giant has begun taking orders for the iPhone and the service is expected to be delivered to the consumers from November 28th, 2009.

Apple iPhone, that has captured the hearts and minds of users globally and has established a big name for itself had been long overdue in South Korea, a country that is known to be one of the most cell phone savvy countries in the world. Apple iPhone has long made its way to India, Japan and Australia. Recently, even China got a taste of the most popular handset in the world with its regional wireless carrier, China Unicom Ltd.

Even though the announcement for a formal release of the Apple iPhone has been made by KT Corp. South Korea still isn’t being shown in “Soon To Arrive” section of on Apple’s website. As f now, the device is available in 86 countries and regions and is slated for release in four other countries as well.

According to Kim Woo-sik (CEO, KT Personal Customer Group),

“We are thrilled to bring iPhone to South Korea. Our customers will enjoy the power and benefits of using the revolutionary iPhone on KT’s 3G network.”
