Apple iPhone To Finally See The Light Of Day In South Korea

The utterly popular and the most sought after Apple iPhone has finally been given the go ahead by South Korean regulators, paving its way for a South Korean launch, as early as the end of this month. The approval for the release of iPhone was unanimously agreed by the commissioners of the Korea Communications Commission.

Two of the biggest wireless network carriers in South Korea, KT Corp. and SK Telecom Co. have been in negotiations with Apple Inc. to implement the launch of Apple iPhone as soon as possible. The launch of the iPhone will especially be significant for the consumers, as the South Korean market is currently dominated by domestic electronic firms, Samsung and LG and the release of iPhone in the market will provide consumers with more options.

South Korea’s second biggest telecommunications entity, KT has not yet commented on the decision taken by the Korea Communications Commission, but has stated that it plans to release Apple iPhone as soon as possible. On the other hand, Apple Inc. is still reviewing its plans to launch the iPhone in South Korea and as of now, the decision of the company is still pending.

The Apple website providing the list of countries where the iPhone is expected to make its appearance does not include South Korea. However, according to the country’s media reports, KT is planning to take pre-orders of the Apple iPhone on the internet by November 28th,2009. The region has seen a boom of Apple iPhone with the launch of the device in China, India. Australia and Japan.
