It has been a fierce competition between two of the biggest smart phone and PDA manufactures, PALM and Apple. The competition is between their two products, Palm’s Pre and the Apple iPhone.
Recently, Jon Stokes, a prolific writer at Ars Technica did a comparison between the usefulness of both the devices in an airport and during a long flight, where the only companion you have is your phone or your PDA.
As per his observations, Apple iPhone far exceeds the capabilities than the Palm Pre and can take the role of an entertainer during trips, flights and in various situations, where you find yourself bored to death. Due to availability of thousands of iPhone applications such as games, personal apps among other others, via the Apple iStore, you can never feel bored or alone and would always be engaged with enriched multimedia content on the iPhone. However, in the case of palm Pre, this device is extremely boring in nature and does not present any entertainment value, and also the battery power of this PDA phone is abysmal.
Owning an iPhone gives you a lot of advantages, such as the availability of accessories in the just about every airport and mobile accessories shops. But, in the case of Pre, if you do not all your accessories with you, then it would almost next to impossible for you to find the accessories for this phone in any local mobile accessory shop.

Despite of the above shortcomings, users still believe that the Pre related woes would be sorted out very soon and that, Pre would once again be able to do what it was designed to do, give a fierce competition to the Apple iPhone.
