Aptera Motors announced the pre production model of their 2e, which seems to be an interesting three-wheeled electric vehicle. It would come with space for two people and would be in an elegant white colour. The vehicle looks like a cross between a cycle and an aeroplane. The vehicle reminds me of alien vehicles which could be seen in futuristic movies and games.

Apparently, these vehicles are sleek, provide high performance and durability, and look great. The 2e will run on a lithium ion battery and ca reach speeds of 90mph. It can accelerate from 0mph to 60mph in just a second. The vehicle is expected to cost $25,000 and even go up to $45,000.

I would say, this is a tad too expensive for an electric vehicle. Using EVs are also about lessening the expenses of the user and not only about being environmentally clean. However, with such great performance and looks, one could not really complain about anything. Just waiting until the 2e is released late this year or early 2010 is a better idea.
