Japanese researchers are working on a bot that could help you do all your housework and more. Researchers are developing a mechanical housemaid which is being called the AR. Toyota is apparently working with the researchers and the AR can recognize laundry, transport dirty clothes to the washing machine.

This could be the first time that robot would be able to handle something that isn’t hard and isn’t of a regular shape. Not just the laundry but the AR can sweep the floor with a broom and also move heavy furniture and appliances.

Though it may still take a long time to fire your housemaid and replace her with a robot, this definitely is an indication that human maids will now have to consider other career opportunities. Nevertheless, AR may set the ground for future bots that can assist humans with their household work.
