A couple of days ago, Apple Inc. announced a new version of its widely popular iPhone 3G. This new version known as iPhone 3G S has been promised to provide faster internet experience, along with a host of other new features. Since the announcement, consumers and markets alike had been speculating about the release date of one of the most anticipated gadgets for this summer.

Today, AT&T finally announced the launch date along with other details for iPhone 3G S. This press statement also includes AT&T’s retail store locations and also cater to those consumers who have pre-booked the phone.

Location & Acquisition Procedure.

For the pre-booked consumers, the retails chains will open around 7 AM local time. There are about 2,200 AT&T retail outlets and 211 Apple Retail Outlets all across the U.S. The pre-booked customers should take their receipts with them for the delivery and should go to the same store where the booking was made. For those of you, who did online booking, you need not go anywhere as your iPhone 3G S will be delivered to you at your doorstep. The shipping of iPhone 3G S for the online bookings will begin today at the earliest. Other customers can contact any of the Apple or AT&T retail stores and will be served on a first-cum-first-served basis.

Price:

The iPhone 3G S will be available for $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB) for all new and existing AT&T consumers alike. In case of the existing customers, he prices will remain the same, provided they have fulfilled their previous AT&T agreements.

For those existing AT&T customers who haven’t yet completed their existing AT&T commitments and still wish to do an upgrade their existing iPhone 3G phones, the price are a bit high. $399 (16GB) and $499 (32GB).
