BackType, which is more like a search engine which brings you comments from the blogosphere is especially useful for those who would like to know what is being written about them. Launched in August, the company has come a long way from being just a ‘comment search engine’ to even providing alerts to its users. BackType today unveiled a new feature where in users can track keywords that are included in comments.
This is comparable to the Google Alerts but BackType takes it a step further and brings you alerts on your site’s dashboard or even to your email in a frequency that is suitable to you. In fact, you can have the alerts delivered to you daily, weekly or even as soon as a alert happens. This would work better than the Twitter Track or the Google Alerts and is a blessing to those who have their blogs and would like to know what is going on behind their backs, but in virtual world.
BackType even launched another feature called the Subscriptions and this would allow users to track comments on a particular blog post. I must say it’s quite heartening to see the developments in the blogosphere and if we have a better control over what we could say or the knowledge about what is being said, there would be a better cohesion and coherence amongst us all.
