Barnes & Noble Picks Up Jonathan Shar To Speed Up Its Digital Newsstand Frontier

With the emergence of the Apple iPad as a viable e-reader and a dashing tablet device, one of the principal players in the digital publishing industry, Barnes & Noble has now picked up, Jonathan Shar, to lead the way for the company’s “Digital Newsstand and Emerging Content at Barnes & Noble.com.” Mr. Shar has been a veteran of the media industry with his 15 years association with Time Warner Inc. and as he leaves the media empire, he will be vacating the post of general manager, CNNMoney.com.

When he joins the Barnes & Noble network
, Jonathan Shar will be bestowed upon with the responsibilities of creating and maintaining a brand new platform fr the company that would cater to the Nook, the company’s e-reader in the aspects of digital newspapers, magazines blogs and other content publishers for Barnes & Noble. Mr. Shar has stated that, he will be concentrating all his efforts in providing the users with an enhanced digital experience that would carry the portraits of the print media.

Among other things, Jonathan Shar will also be given the responsibility of keeping a close eye on the emerging and happening market trends, wherein he would be analyzing the the requirements expectations of the users of Barnes & Noble.
