Snow White’s wicked but beautiful stepmother could never get out of her room unless she had been declared the most beautiful woman on Earth by her strange talking mirror. We may not have that benefit but a beauty conscious human species have led people’s life to be decided by the way they look rather than anything else.

The worst thing about the society is that it doesn’t just stop at making individuals conscious about the way that they look but it also strangles individuals with a predetermined picture of beauty that everyone is expected to adhere to. Thus, no one ‘feels’ beautiful unless they have been told so by someone else, and loses their own idea of beauty. The computer crazy world has joined in with this obsession; now, instead of waiting to hear whether you are beautiful or not from complete strangers, you can have your computer tell you that in the privacy of your home.

A Canadian grad student has developed a computer program that will tell you how beautiful you are. After feeding the computer with inputs of student volunteers who rated photos of individuals on their hotness on a level of 1-10, the system has now learnt to make human-like judgements on people’s beauty. No more information about this awesome computer is available yet but if it comes out then more teenagers would be locking themselves up in their room.
