Make Up For Ever, the cosmetics brand known the world over, is adding to the buzz created by the upcoming movie Fifty Shades of Grey. They are launching a new range of make-up inspired by the movie. The French make-up brand has planned a limited edition release of a collection featuring four different beauty sets. In a way, each set highlights the sexual awakening of the book’s central character Anastasia as she embarks on a passionate relationship with mysterious billionaire Christian Grey. It is a win-win situation for both the movie and the make-up brand as such activities help the sales of the brand while promoting the film.
The beauty range is scheduled to hit the stores on December 26 much before the movie releases on February 13 next year. The release date has been selected strategically to benefit from the Valentine’s Day. The inspiration from the movie has not gone over board and the beauty range is free from handcuffs and whips. However the ‘Desire Me’ blush trio and brush is rope bound and is priced at $49. The most expensive item in the range is the ‘Give In To Me’ set which includes a four-shade eye shadow palette, eyeliner, lipstick, lip gloss and mascara. The set comes in a lockable keepsake box.
Next in the range are two ‘Tease Me Lip Trios’ featuring a smudge-proof lip liner, a long-wearing lip gloss, and a more lightweight lip gloss, in shades that have been named ‘Innocent’ and ‘Passionate’. Each set in the range comes with beauty tips from the film’s makeup artist Victoria Down. The beauty brand has tied up with Sephora and the new range will be available exclusively in their stores. Creating interesting merchandise has become an integral part of the marketing effort for a movie. The other merchandise being released with the movie includes Fifty Shades of wine and bondage gear. The movie stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia and Jamie Dornan as the charismatic Mr. Grey.
