Sounds like a TV show right? I also assumed it to be one till I saw these beautiful reclaimed lamps called Beryl & Friends from WEmake. These refinished lamps were shown off at the latest London Design Festival in (re)design’s ‘Lighten up’ exhibition at 100% Design. These are made out of old, out of fashion lamps after each part is carefully re-wired, re-stocked with low energy consuming light bulbs.

This is how the designers created these lamps… First, the outer surface of every lampshade is thawed using a blowtorch. Then, it is covered with an opaque jacket followed by which the shades are decorated using prints, beautiful fringes and frames. These lamps are now fitted with low energy bulbs and you can see a stunning lamp instead of your boring old one.
Like WEmake’s previous creations, this one will be a hit too. It brings together imagination, skill and beauty along with an idea that can keep environment cleaner and save energy to an extent.
