Collage has the ability to bring dissimilar and irrelevant images to a single canvas and create a coherence that is seemingly not possible. Many collage artists usually try to make sense of an absurd world which is as defragmented and disintegrated as the pieces of a collage when torn apart. Bianca Runge is an upcoming artist from Netherlands and specializes in collage and other contemporary art. She believes in working with each layer at a single time and combines them all later.

Bianca believes in creating a new reality by tackling these perplexing shifts of meaning and identity. Her latest Dutch Landscapes perhaps seeks to make sense of a nation that straddles between the past and a postmodern E.U member. Her collages about the Dutch landscape juxtapose the rolling hills of Holland with lowlands that are below sea level.

Stark images of Dutch buildings are forced upon these surreal landscapes to create a picture of what Holland truly is, a collage of landscapes, cultures and art. The rain washed street and the slightly bizarre Dutch building create visually stimulating experiences.
