Ever since the introduction Motorola Droid to the consumers at large, both Verizon and Motorola have spared absolutely no efforts to ensure that the impact of the device powered by Google Android reached to the masses. To make that happen both the companies set you with a $100 million advertising campaign to promote the device on every media outlet possible, be it the internet, the print media or television and this massive advertising campaign is being attributed to the success currently being enjoyed by Motorola Droid.

AS per the estimates provided by the analysts, the sales for the Droid are looking quite impressive, since the Droid is the only smart phone currently available that has the latest version of Google Android. So far, about 700,000 to 800,000 Droids have been sold since the launch of the device earlier this month. According to Mark Sue (RBC Capital Markets),

“Verizon’s big marketing push for the Droid is strengthening as we close in on the holidays, and following our round of checks, we believe about 700,000 to 800,000 Droids have been sold, making our hurdle of 1 [million] Motorola Droids achievable for 4Q09 [ending December 31]. Motorola, for its part, has done a good job on the production side, and our survey of over 100 stores indicates strong demand, limited stock outs, and very few returns.”

At the time of the launch, Verizon Wireless had stated that, it had was planning to launch a massive marketing campaign for the Motorola Droid, as Verizon was the exclusive carrier for the device and the campaign was the biggest ever by Verizon for any handset under its umbrella.
