After taking the world by a storm with Microsoft and reaching PC to households all over the world, Bill Gates is getting ready to tame the hurricanes. He is supporting climate scientists and inventors working on a system that can slow down hurricanes by lowering ocean temperatures. His name figures among the patent seekers for this system.

According to American scientists such a system to reduce ocean temperature is possible but will it be practically feasible? Can really a fleet of barges long United States coastline reduce temperatures of tropical oceans enough to slow down the hurricanes? And what about ecological consequences? Bill Gates is not new to challenges but this is major attempt to control weather, which can have unpredictable chaotic consequences.

Artificially controlling and manipulating weather is a dangerous proposition indeed. Also if his patent application is all about weather management, hurricane suppression…hurricane deflection then obvious question is where would United States deflect hurricanes to? It would lead to new kind of war fares – weather attacks.

United States suffers most because of hurricanes and experts feel there would be many investors for the research including insurance companies and even the government of United States. Bill Gates may really change the path of the hurricanes.
