One person is reported to be dead and 12 injured in the blast in the Jalpaiguri district of Siliguri in West Bengal today. The explosion took place from the bicycle where the explosive device was attached.
Out of the 12 injured, three are said to be critical. Investigations are going on regarding the motive of the crime, the people likely to be involved and all the other details. The West Bengal Chief Secretary maintained that there are no possible links between the blast and the upcoming general elections. He said that it is rather the work of unidentified terrorists.
However, the question about security issues still remains among the Indians. If it’s the terrorists, then it can be evident that these groups are all set to terrorize the entire nation. Metropolitan cities and the main commercial hubs are not only their targets now. Semi urban areas may be on the terror radar as well. Although the conclusions can be drawn only after the investigation progresses, the security issues needs to be answered and leave no stones unturned to tightened the security measures.
