Neuroengineers have been attempting at building a network consisting of brain cells, which could help create an interface with electronic systems or even, help repair damaged and destroyed nerve cells. They have found out a way to build digital logic gates using neurons modeled on electronic components so that they stay reliable. This could help provide a real model for the brain and the way it functions.
The fact that a neural transmission is the result of a single neuron firing and the rest of the neurons carrying the message to the brain has been the basis to this technology. In fact, this technology could create a sort of synthesis between brain and computer systems. The idea is to use the technology and interface to create brain implants that could be used to command and help function prosthesis.
In a way, robot arms and other such devices could be controlled using the circuit, which is created using brain cells. Wonder where the technology of brain and computer merging together would take us. A world filled with scheming androids? Perhaps!
