Brand Coke on top in America?

According to recent study released by Keller Fay Group, its Coca-Cola which tops the list of most talked about brands in America. The rival Pepsi is down to fourth place in this brand war which has been going on for years. This study is totally based on word-of-mouth. So if one links frequently used and talked product, Coke has finally raced ahead in America.

It seems the ‘diet Coke’ is the winning formula. Any brand that spends on innovating and marketing the line of products does come out as a winner. It’s a big challenge to get trust of man on the street, the ultimate target buyer. More so when the world is becoming diet conscious.  But innovative internet advertising and other efforts have finally paid off.

However one can never predict a final winner in any brand wars.  Campaigns, anti-campaigns will continue to tease people to meet target sales.  But good old carbonated soft drink has undergone many a makeovers and added much fizz with intelligent advertising, marketing and product innovation. Its forever trendy to sip a soft drink!

    Advertising for soft drinks perhaps is the most aggressive I have ever noticed. Imagine the amount of money that Pepsi/Coke may spend! I’m sure even IBM doesn’t spend that kind of money.

    Very true. Also production cost of soft drinks is not high, so maybe they can afford to pump in lots of money into advertising and marketing…
