In the modern age, it is the brand and its logo that makes or breaks the company and become its most identifiable face in the market. It is the ‘short-hand’ that symbolizes the brand’s value and something that the consumer can instantly connect to. Whether it is the tick of Nike of the lines of Adidas, the ‘M’ of McDonald’s or the ‘g’ of Google, they form the most powerful representation of the organization and an easy way to make sales. Designer Ignacio Pilotto decided to use this familiarity with brand logos to replace the letters in the keyboard with the brands.
The keyboard is nothing revolutionary in the technological sense, but it does have something unique from the design side. Instead of using the alphabets, the brands whose name starts with the corresponding alphabets are replaced. Of course, all these are global brands and Ignacio is working under the premise that everyone instantly recognizes all of them (Which might be not always true). Despite its unusual design, it seems pretty cool. Just that for someone who is already not very good at using the keyboard, this could be a complete nightmare!
