Vallo & Sadovsky Architects (Matúš Vallo, Oliver Sadovský, Martin Lepej) from Bratislava in Eastern European nation of Slovakia have designed the BA_LIK pavilion. Situated in Bratislava’s historical squares, it is an ode to the neglected and dilapidated spaces of the historical city of Bratislava.

Bratislava was an important transit city during the World War II when thousands of people made their journey in trains to escape the German oppression towards Eastern Europe. However, most did not make it. The pavilion comes with 5 elements which are mounted on wheels and can be used as a public space during the summer months. It could be used to stage shows, speeches, fairs and even exhibitions.

The Pavilion can be used by the homeless, by young people to party, by businessmen to take rest from the burning sun and so on and so forth. It adds a unique elegance and charm to the already charming city of Bratislava. It would be nice if other cities in the world thought of cool ways to pep up the look of dilapidated areas.
